Generous US $ 100,000 donation will bring music to hundreds of children in post-conflict regions around the world.

Jimi Hendrix once said: “If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.” In places where armed conflict has torn the fabric of society, music has the unique ability to bring people together and restore connections. Every musician, every music lover and everyone working to create, produce and share music understands the connecting force of music.

Since our founding in 1999, musicians around the world have joined our projects and shared their expertise, reaching thousands of children, youth, women and other people struggling with the aftermath of war.

Today, Musicians Without Borders is honored to receive a wonderful gift from a major player in the global music industry. In honor of the 60th birthday of its CEO, Uli Behringer, Music Tribe has donated US $ 100,000 in support of our music projects around the world.

Music Tribe designs and manufactures products to empower musicians under the famous brands: Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Aston Microphones, Tannoy, Turbosound, TC Electronic, TC Helicon, Behringer and Bugera.

And Music Tribe gives back: in 2021, Music Tribe donated 1,500 synthesizers to music initiatives around the world, empowering children in underserved communities.

Uli Behringer sent us the following message: “When I grew up as a child, I was very fortunate to get an education in music and classical piano, which has helped me in my later life to appreciate the positive impact music has on our wellbeing.

During the long process of screening hundreds of global charity organizations, we learned about the incredible work Musicians Without Borders is doing. Helping less privileged children in remote areas by providing them with musical equipment and education for the purpose of achieving happiness and meaning, is a cause we deeply believe in. Musicians Without Borders is a truly wonderful organization, and we encourage everyone to support their amazing work.”

Music Tribe’s donation to Musicians Without Borders will be used to bring music to hundreds of children, teens and young adults at two of our long-term projects:

  • Mitrovica Rock School and Roma Rock School, where youth in Kosovo and North Macedonia connect across the ethnic divides left by the Yugoslav wars, and
  • Rwanda Youth Music, which brings the healing power of music to marginalized youth and children living with HIV in conflict-affected Central Eastern Africa.

Music Tribe’s donation is an act of solidarity with aspiring musicians worldwide. Musicians Without Borders is grateful to enter into a partnership that will spread the joy of music there where it is needed most.
