2021 was another challenging, complicated yearโbut also a year of insight, change, and hope. As a good friend recently said to me, itโs the first time in our memory that everyone on earth is faced with the same crisis. And it reveals things that we sort of knew, but not always so clearly.
I donโt mean just the ugly, greedy, violent things. Weโre realizing what is truly important in life: our need for connection with others, our resilience in the face of events beyond our control, the importance of taking care of ourselves and each other, our creativity in expanding and connecting in ever-broadening networks, and how we are sustained by love.
Here we are, after almost two years of various forms of lockdowns and limitations: a global network of musicians, organizations, colleagues, friends, and supporters. Together, weโre steadily finding new ways to use the power of music to raise voices, to build community, to inspire change, to transcend divisionsโฆ. to connect.
Today, we honor and thank everyone who contributed to our campaign to #BringBackMusic in 2022. You helped us raise more than โฌ29,000 โ almost twice as much as our original goal!
As we step into another unpredictable year, a heartfelt ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ธ ๐๐ผ๐ to all who support the work of Musicians Without Borders .
On behalf of our entire team, happy new year!
