In 2017 Musicians without Borders aims to establish the Rwanda Umuziki Hub in Kigali, Rwanda. This will be a center for community music training, and for the use of music for the promotion of individual and community health.
The center will support a network of Rwandan musicians using musical approaches in their communities to support children and youth living with HIV; those living as refugees in Rwanda; and youth facing marginalization due to their place in society. As such, the center will provide employment, education, and psychosocial support.
The practices that have been developed by Musicians without Borders internationally will be at the heart of Rwanda Umuziki Hub.
By summer 2017, an exciting new hub of expertise and creativity will be thriving, supported by Musicians without Borders, Fondation Alta Mane, and You!
