This year marks the first MwB training course delivered entirely by our Rwandan team. Yves and Espoir are working as lead trainers, alongside a team of experienced music leaders. They are training a group of 15 young people to use music to benefit 100s of vulnerable children.
One of the great successes of the Rwanda Youth Music program is that young people who received Musicians without Borders training as Community Music Leaders, are now finding opportunities with other organizations as trainers and teachers of music.
“It’s an amazing way to build a community. A happier community. By music, by empathy, by connecting all together.”
Community Music Leaders, trained by Musicians without Borders, ran workshops with young children in eco-drumming.
Yves Kana works with Musicians without Borders since 2012 as a music teacher and assistant trainer. He reaches 1000s of vulnerable children with his work. We need your support to continue and train more Rwandan community musicians in 2017.
With your help, we will train 15 more Community Music Leaders, and support our team of 30 experienced Community Music Leaders to work with over 1000 children in 2017: former street children; orphans; and children affected by HIV.
