Welcome to our benefit concert on World Wide Music Day 2018 for support of Sounds of Palestine and the work of Musicians without Borders. Ensembles of Platform C | Muziek- en Dansschool Amstelveen will perform pieces from all over the world including songs sung and played by Sounds of Palestine.
Sounds of Palestine is a school that provides instruments, lessons, orchestra, choir but most importantly a safe and creative environment for children from the refugee camps in and around Bethlehem. Within the school, music is used as a tool to achieve long-term social change for the children and families.
The benefit concert has free entry but donations are welcome and will go towards:
- Healthy fresh-cooked meals for the children
- Nursery group lessons
- Music lessons
- Transportation of children to and from the refugee camps
- Buying and repairing instruments
Come join us and bring your friends to watch the children in Amstelveen support those living in Palestine!

All levels welcome! Join us in this wonderfully resonant space to sing, play, move, and celebrate being alive. Simple songs, rounds, chants, we’ll play and improvise our way into a sonic blooming of hope, love and rejuvenation. The perfect antidote to the blues, news overwhelm, cranky co-workers, or relationship tribulations. Drop in for any amount of time, but we think you’ll wanna stay.
A Drum Circle is not a drum class. It is an interactive rhythmical event for everybody. We will celebrate the variety of instruments, rhythms and people. Instruments are provided. No previous experience is required. Come along and play with us!
This is a private party for the organisation. For invitees only.
However, the link between In My Backyard and Musicians Without Borders is evident! We dedicate our songs to MWB!
Lahore Music Teachers' Association is only orgnization of School Music Teachers across Pakistan. This is our annual conference, will be held at Lahore.
Lit In Africa(L.I.A).L.I.A in this case is used as a paradox since it is a Swahili word for "cry" and will be an event that partly represents the starving artists silent tears(weighing him/her down from the struggle) and Kenya's too due to the lives lost during the last general elections. The actual title Lit In Africa means that despite all the negative energy and press around the motherland it is still fun and one of the things that make it so is the music that is going to be showcased.
