Vacancy: Communications Manager

This position is now filled.

We’re seeking an experienced communications professional who wants to make a real difference in the world.

We are a global network organization using the power of music for community building, social justice and peace. Our trainers and project leaders work in war-torn regions of the world (Balkans, Middle East, Central Africa, Central America) and in Europe, for refugees. We train musicians around the world to use their talents with people marginalized by poverty, violence and inequality.

After 19 years delivering high-impact projects we have plenty to shout about and we need to work harder to make ourselves known so we can achieve even more. Our head office in Amsterdam is looking for a communications professional who can lead our comms team, upscale our social media impact (ca. 31K FB followers), and optimize our communications strategy for outreach and fundraising. We offer a wonderful working environment, a supportive community of colleagues, trainers and musicians, and the chance to be part of the change we all want to see in our world.

We ask:

  • Excellent (native) English and (fluent) Dutch written language skills;
  • Highly skilled in social media;
  • Affinity with the arts, particularly music;
  • A flexible team worker who can also work independently;
  • Creativity, sense of humor.

We offer:

  • A stimulating environment with a diverse, international team
  • Direct involvement with amazing projects around the world
  • Office located close to Amsterdam Central Station
  • A 12-month contract, 32 hours a week, with the possibility of a contract renewal
  • Salary indication for a 32-hour week, depending on age and experience: €30-35,000 gross per year
