What a Welcoming weekend! We just concluded the first two training days for our latest Welcome Notes training in Amsterdam, with a new group of musicians and music teachers who wish to use music as a tool to support and connect with refugee communities.
Twenty talented and inspiring trainees joined us and I’m overwhelmed once again by the enthusiasm of the wonderful people who join us for training. Within a short time it feels like I’ve know many of them for much longer. This quick process of trust-building and kinship can also largely be credited to our trainers Otto and Darren, who made this weekend a huge success and facilitated the safety and inclusion necessary for people to connect and share.
I look forward to joining up with this wonderful group again for the second training weekend in October. And I can’t wait to see how these change makers of the future will use music to work towards a more inclusive and peaceful society!
