This training will help musicians strengthen their skills in leading community music workshops and music projects in refugee centers and communities that foster empathic connections between people within an inclusive and safe environment. Participants will be introduced to the methodology behind our community music training program. They will be led through a variety of musical activities focused on developing leadership skills while exploring concepts related to creativity, improvisation, and non-violence. Join us to experience, share and learn about the power of music to bring comfort, connection and hope.

The training is open to professional musicians, experienced workshop leaders and music teachers who are (or wish to be) active as music workshop leaders in refugee centers or refugee communities in Europe.

Trainees need to have good music skills and the ability to simplify and break down the elements of music making. This is necessary in order to lead and teach workshop participants at any level of musicianship. Trainees must be able to demonstrate empathic sensitivity and active listening skills as a group facilitator.
