Our friends from Amwaj Choir Schools in Palestine are urgently looking for volunteers! The children from our partner Sounds of Palestine sang this summer together with the children from Amwaj, and hope to perform together again in the future. Please read the following call for volunteers to discover if you are the one they are looking for:Brief description of the project:
The Amwaj choir school was created in August 2015. It offers intensive voice-based musical training to children aged 7 to 14, with a weekly program of 8 hours of lessons (Western and Arabic choral singing, vocal technique, creative workshops, music theory initiation, listening sessions, drama workshops, etc.), in addition to music camps and regular concerts. The pedagogical team comprises Palestinian and international teachers, currently working with 55 children over two branches within premises of local cultural centers.
In Hebron, a town suffering from colonization at its heart and isolated from other Palestinians towns, resulting in a society which is closed within itself, the project is kindly hosted by the Association d’Échanges Culturels Hébron-France. In Bethlehem, the project is kindly hosted by the Ghirass Cultural Centre attended by children from towns, villages and refugee camps of that governorate.
We are looking for:
We expect from you to:
