In celebration of World Wide Music Day and Musicians Without Borders, Baritone Henk Neven , singers Nora Fischer and Brigitte van Hagen and singer-songwriter IX perform a diverse program at Splendor, ranging from Tchaikovsky to Syrian music.
On June 21, Splendor Amsterdam will host a special concert as singers raise their voices in support of Musicians Without Borders.
The artists include baritone Henk Neven, singers Nora Fischer, Brigitte van Hagen and Shura Lipovsky, singer and oud player Jawa Manla and singer-songwriter IX. The program offers a broad range of vocal music, from Tschaikovsky to Syrian classical music.
Other featured artists include the Matangi Quartet, pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren, violist Oene van Geel, clarinetist Bart de Kater, flautist Jeannette Landré, cellist Jan Bastiaan Neven, and arranger, David Dramm. The evening will be presented by Wouter Pleijsier. The event will be broadcast live in the MAX Evening Concert program on the Dutch radio station, NPO Radio 4.
During the afternoon, Musicians Without Borders trainers will offer a workshop for musicians interested in an introduction to MwB’s approach and methodology.
