We are tired, we are frustrated and we are sad. Every day we wake up hoping that today will be a day without violence.
But when we enter the classroom and see only smiling faces, enthusiastic children, singing, dancing, playing music…we become hopeful again and we gain enough energy to continue another day.
Some children are traumatized, afraid, angry. But after five minutes, none of them can resist the music, and for one full lesson, everything is left behind and all that remains is happiness, making music together, feeling connected.
On the day of our last performance in the Doha Girls School, it was raining. But exactly when it was time to go outside for the Musical Playground with 470 girls, the sun started shining. And that’s what the music brings us all: sunshine during cloudy times!
Please let me share the smiles of the children with you:
