We are looking back at an exciting period of workshops and community performances: more than 1700 children from isolated villages in the West Bank participated actively in our Musical Playgrounds. They sang, rapped, played flutes and body percussion and most of all, they had lots of fun.
While the weather gets hotter every day, we are helping to prepare the 2nd annual Music Summer School with our partner Sounds of Palestine. 65 children will receive two weeks of daily music instrument lessons, orchestra, traditional choir, Palestinian folklore dancing, music theory and art lessons.
We are also starting an interesting new collaboration with Music as Therapy International. Three of our trainees will follow their online course under the guidance of our project manager and music trainer.
Soon, we will share two new videos made by special musicians. The first one is a video music clip made by young girls from Dheisheh refugee camp who wrote a rap song together with deaf girls. The second one documents the connections between a deaf girl, a blind man, and a musician from Bethlehem.
