May 4 Memorial Concert: ‘Peace of Music’

Produced by Musicians without Borders

Yiddish music, traditional Ukrainian songs, melancholic Middle Eastern sounds of the oud and the ney: on the annual Dutch remembrance day for victims of World War II, Musicians without Borders presents a program of music from peoples longing for peace, then and now.

In a special memorial concert in the Grote St. Laurens Church in Alkmaar (North Holland), ‘Peace of Music’ brings 10 top musicians from different national, ethnic and religious backgrounds together. In their separate and combined offerings, the musicians will blend elements from classical, jazz and world music styles and cultures in musical encounters across borders.
