Active Citizens
March 4, 2015   Rwanda

In December 2014 the British Council launched its Active Citizens program in Rwanda. This month they invited two members of our Rwanda Youth Music project to join their first training period.

Leontine, a Community Music Leader and Assistant Trainer, and Bonani, a professional musician and trainer, will spend four days learning about the program and how it can support their grassroots community music work.

The Active Citizens program promotes intercultural dialogue and community-led social development – values that correspond strongly with our work, and with the values of every member of our team.

The program aims to bring together people with different beliefs and perspectives to learn from and share with each other, connecting thousands of like-minded people around the world who collectively want to make a fairer and more inclusive society.

We’re excited for Leontine and Bonani to receive this opportunity, and to learn how new approaches can supplement our work in Rwanda.
