Call for Applications: Training of Trainers in Community Music Leadership

Musicians without Borders invites applications for a Training of Trainers in July 2015. We are looking for musicians with experience in community work and/or social activism who are interested in expanding their skills based on our unique expertise.IMG_5868-small

For over 15 years, our team of trainers have been running community music programs in places struggling with trauma, fear and isolation as a result of war and conflict.

The training content corresponds with the overall mission of Musicians without Borders: to use music to connect communities, bridge divides, and heal the wounds of war. Our three core values, which run as a thread throughout the training, are:

  • Cultivating a culture of nonviolence;
  • Increasing empathy among all participants;
  • Using music as a tool for inclusion and bridging divides.

More information on the training curriculum is available here.

Time: Five day-long training sessions, 14-18 July

Place: Lioba School of Peace / School Voor Vrede, Egmond Binnen, The Netherlands

Cost: We are working to keep the cost of participation low. We now estimate the price at 500-700 Euros per person including all training and material costs and full room and board. Participants must cover their own travel expenses.

Application: Submit your application online here  (http://goo.gl/forms/cZBn0mfF2R)
Deadline: 20 March, 2015 (extended deadline)

Please note that we have received more applications than there are available places in the training. We will review all applications and contact applicants regarding a final decision by April 1.
