Last week we finished the second level of training in Tanzania. We are training 30 young people to become music workshop leaders and reach hundreds of children in their communities.
For 5 days the trainees learned techniques in creating workshops, connecting activities, and adapting workshops according to different situations and the profile of children. On the fourth day of the training, the trainees traveled to a nearby orphanage, working with 60 orphans, where they led an hour-long workshop.
Also, for the first time we invited 3 assistant trainers from our Rwanda project, creating the grounds for cultural exchange and sharing of knowledge and skills between the two neighboring countries. Jolie, Leontine, and Espoire taught traditional Rwandan dance and song, while the Tanzanian trainees taught us the Masai dance and song.
Thank you Lucas Dols and Danny Felsteiner Mekori for giving the wonderful training!
