March 4, 2014 •• From Woman to Woman
Brave Roses at the start of spring

Just as spring is making its appearance in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we’re quickly approaching the International Women’s Day, Brave Roses – our From Woman to Woman choir – offered an early gift to the women who live in Dom penzionera Tuzla (Home of Pensioners).

Brave Roses

The choir sang a number of Bosnian traditional songs (Sevdah), for a room filled with elderly women, all joyfully singing along, and were received with enthusiastic rounds of applause. The audience also included women who live in the refugee camps of Visca and Jezevac, some of which joined the choir on the stage for the last two songs.

On the 8th of March, the choir will also share the positive, healing energy of music with the women of Srebrenica, a gift that cannot be touched or seen, but one that deeply touches peoples hearts.
