In February 2013 Leontine graduated from Musicians without Borders’ music leadership training in Kigali, Rwanda. Since then she and her 24 colleagues have brought music to thousands of HIV+ children.
Every week the graduated youth leaders use music in regular support groups with hundreds of vulnerable children who look up to them for help and mentorship. Twice a month they travel to partner organizations and offer music to hundreds of children through outreach workshops.
The new skills learned during the training have empowered the youth leaders as change-makers in their own society. They have felt the effect of music on themselves, and they see it in the children with whom they work.
