Music Bus Running Out of Petrol: Needs Fuel

Please keep the Music Bus rolling! Our mobile musical classroom for children in Srebrenica and Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina needs your help. Current funding for our staff of four local music teachers and psychologists is running low. Now in its fourth year, the Music Bus opens children’s hearts with music, dance and rhythm and brings them together in the midst of intense nationalism and post-conflict tension. More than a thousand children per year have had the opportunity to explore their own identities as musicians, to develop their own creativity and cooperative social skills, and to make music across the political divide.

Our office in Sarajevo has done a terrific job of raising €20,000 to fund the Music Bus through December 2006. Now, our four colleagues – psychologists Amir and Senad, and music teachers Almerisa and Andjelka – rely on your help to provide €25,000 to support the project through June 2007.

In this new year, don’t just hope for peace. Bring peace to the spirits of thousands of children in Bosnia-Herzegovina and lay the foundation for peace for future generations.
