Sarajevo Cantonal Ministry of Culture Supports MwB BiH with KM 3000 Grant
In February, Alija Cengić, Deputy Minister of Culture for the Canton of Sarajevo has announced that his ministry has allocated 3000 KM to MwB to support our office in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Over the past several years, Minister Gengic's endorsement and support of MwB BiH's work of in Sarajevo have been critically instrumental in our success.
Most notably, Minister Gengić spearheaded the invitation to MwB and to the Dutch Wind Ensemble (NBE) to play in Sarajevo's historic old library during Bašaržaške Noci, Sarajevo's summer festival. He also has advocated in support of the collaboration between MwB and NBE to help reclaim Bosnia's orchestral tradition by providing training in oboe and saxophone

The Ministry's generous donation will help cover the administrative and operational costs of MwB-BiH which not only coordinates NBE's activities with students at the Music Academies of Banja Luka and Sarajevo, but also manages the Music Bus. At present, MwB-BiH is exploring a new collaboration with Musers, an organization in Mostar that offers badly needed music therapy services to children and adults.
