MwB at Australia and New York Conferences

MwB Director Laura Hassler will be speaking at conferences in Australia and the United States on the work and methodologies of Musicians without Borders.

ASME Conference in Australia
In July 2011, MwB Director Laura Hassler will be a keynote speaker for the ASME (Australian Society for Music Education) during its conference entitled Making Sound Waves: Diversity, Unity, Equity.

"Listening to the Human Song"
The conference brings Australian music educators, performers, composers, researchers and community activists together for a four-day meeting. In a speech entitled "Listening to the Human Song," Hassler will present the work of Musicians without Borders to promote diversity, tolerance and peace through music. She will also lead several singing workshops with participants, teaching songs from different cultures.

MANR Launch in New York
The New York-based initiative Music as a Natural Resource has invited Laura Hassler to speak at its official launch, to be held on June 23 in the UN General Assembly.

Music connecting divided communities
MANR has been established to document projects using music to connect divided communities and aims to support several key organizations in the field. Its founding board has identified MwB as a partner and will be promoting our projects in its international network.
