September 21, the International Day for Peace

September 21, 2009 is the International Day for Peace. As a partner organization of People Building Peace* MwB will participate by presenting a music workshop in a school in Utrecht.

On Monday September 21 the International Day for Peace/DAY4PEACE will be celebrated with as main theme ‘How do we quarrel in a respectable way?’ or ‘Making peace while quarrelling’. Pupils of elementary, secondary and ROC Schools will be offered workshops in the morning followed by a centrally organized program in the afternoon at the Dom square, for this occasion renamed ‘Peace Square’.

For MwB Sherwin Kirindongo will give a percussion workshop at a school in Utrecht.

The day will be concluded in the evening with a program (open to the general public) at the Dom square where traditionally a lit, living peace statue will be constructed.
