Musicians without Borders named as Festival Charity

The European choral organization, Europa Cantat, has named Musicians without Borders as their official charity during its summer festival 2009. The festival takes place from 17-26 July in Utrecht, and is meant for amateur singers and top conductors from all over the world.

Intercultural dialogue through singing
In 2008, Musicians without Borders and the European choral organization Europa Cantat participated in the project ‘Sing the Bridge’ in Hungary to establish an intercultural dialogue in conflict zones through choral singing.

From classical music to vocal jazz, and from show choirs to folk music
The EUROPA CANTAT festival takes place every three years in different European cities. This year the festival will be held in Utrecht, the Netherlands. From 17 to 26 July 2009 individual singers, choristers and ensemble singers can take part in ateliers, meet people from all sorts of countries, enjoy singing with top conductors and listen to music. The festival also offers singing workshops and concerts to the general public; from classical music to vocal jazz, and from show choirs to folk music.

Workshop Shura Lipovsky
MwB’s ambassador, Shura Lipovsky, will give a workshop and a night concert of Jiddish songs on Monday July 20th at RASA World Culture Center in Utrecht. Shura will give a concert on 09.45 p.m.
